The Great Glen Way passes the site about 1.5 miles to the south, for walkers and cyclists this is a good alternative route to Inverness without having to negotiate the busy A862.

Can I leave my touring caravan on site for the summer season?
If you would like a seasonal pitch please contact the park via email early in the year or at the end of the season so that a pitch can be allocated where possible. At present for 2022 all seasonal pitches are taken.

Yes there is a freezer in the shop which can be used for freezing ice blocks.

Is there an electric car charging point at the caravan park
There is currently no EV charge point. Please note that charging from the pitch 16amp sockets is NOT permitted. The constant load from car charging overloads the supply which is designed for intermittent caravan and camping loads only. EV charging points at the reception area will be installed at a future date.

Are there any pubs nearby for a meal?
The Clachnaharry Inn 01463 239806 and The Old North Inn 01463 210212 are the nearest about 2 and 3 miles away but not walkable as there is no foot path and a dangerous road. Booking is recommended.

Hello are you open for motorhomes in January
The park is closed to touring visitors from 1st December and re-opens on 1st March. Sorry not to be able to offer you a pitch in January.

Chalet and Holiday caravan arrivals
The earliest arrival time for chalets and holiday caravans is from 2.00pm with departure by 10.00am. If you expect to arrive late after 5.00pm please let reception know in advance and information about collecting your keys will be provided.

Hi there. We are thinking of coming in the main school holidays, would thee be many midges at that time?
Midgies are active in the Highlands from May until the end of Sept and precautions are required. However at this particular location the campsite is remarkably free from midgies and have not been known to be troublesome.

What time does the shop on site shut?
The shop opens at 8.00am and closes during the summer at approximately 6.30pm. Closing times may vary during the main season with slightly longer hours.

Only grass piches for touring caravans?
There are hard standing pitches and grass. However you need to specify if you prefer a hard pitch and book early to secure one.

Is there a no music radio policy
If music disturbs neighbours and is audible beyond the pitch the policy is for the radio to be turned down so there is no disturbance. After 10.00pm particular care is required to avoid disturbing others.

Yes BBQs are permitted provided the grass is not burnt and the BBQ is off the ground.

Does your motorhome charge include two people?
The charge for any pitch includes up to 2 people. A 3rd person or more are charged at the Additional person rate.

Are fire pits allowed?
Yes fire pits are permitted provided precautions are taken to prevent scorching the grass and only suitable fuel is burnt ie no rubbish, plastic etc. Foraging for wood from the park or nearby is not permitted.

Is there facilities for disabled persons ?

Can we sleep in the car if we book a pitch?
Yes, you can sleep in the car the current charge is the same as a small tent ie £16.00 per night assuming 2 people.

During high season does the park close its gates at night or are you free to come and go as you please?
You can come and go at night providing there is no unnecessary disturbance to neighbours and it is best to leave a marker e.g. chair, or hookup cable etc to show that the pitch is occupied this reduces the risk of a late arrival taking an 'empty' pitch after the reception closes.

Are towels and bed linen included in the eco-chalet? Or can we rent them?
We do not provide towels and you are asked to bring your own, towels are not offered for rent.

Why are other campers allowed to park so close together. Surely this is a fire hazzard
If you have any concerns about fire hazards or other safety matters please report the matter immediately to the office so that the situation can be assessed and action taken as required. An FAQ is not a sensible way of addressing safety concerns.

Hi, how much is it to operate the washing machines and driers? Do you need to have coins?
The washing machines and driers required tokens available from the shop, prices in 2024 are £3.50 to wash and £3.50 to dry.

Departures from the holiday vans and chalets is by 10.00am. Touring pitch departures in July and August are also by 10.00am and 11.00am for other months.

In July and August the reception is open until about 7.30pm however if you arrive later and find the reception closed simply enter your name, vehicle registration number and description e.g. motorhome, VW, tent etc on the board and follow the directions to the camping area. Payment is then due by 10.00am the following day.

you are close to the water: does the firth of beauly ever "drown you out,bzw,ever douse unsuspecting campers?
Camping in a low spot when there is torrential rain is probably the only time when unsuspecting campers may be caught out with a water logged tent.

Drone flying over the park is not allowed however you can fly from the beach over the water and foreshore.

WIFI
WIFI is available over most of the park with some areas near the beach out of range. The WIFI code is unique to each device and can be obtained at no charge from reception. If you require WIFI access outside normal reception hours connect to Bunchrew via Card/Paypal and follow the instructions, a charge of £2.50 per day or £7.00 per week is payable.

Dogs
Dogs are generally welcome provided they are under control and kept on a lead at all times. Certain large breeds are not allowed e.g. pitbulls or similar, please contact reception if you would like to check.

Are holiday vans and chalets available to rent for short stays?
Yes, the units are available for a single night or longer except in July and August when 3 nights is the usual minimum. However, single nights may be available during July and August if bookings at the time permit so please do make an enquiry.

How do I make an online touring pitch booking e.g. for caravan, tent or motorhome etc?
Choose Booking, Online Booking and provide your details. A £5.00 deposit is payable with the balance then due on arrival. If you prefer not to book online follow Make Enquiry and complete the form. A response to your booking request or query will usually be sent within a few hours. Don't forget to check SPAM if a response is not in your inbox.

How do I book a Chalet or Holiday Van?
Online booking is NOT available for chalets and holiday caravans. Please follow Booking, Make an Enquiry and provide your dates and details. Once your enquiry form has been submitted you will receive an email usually within a few hours giving details of how to pay the deposit and completed the process.

Bus service and taxis
There is a regular bus connection to/from Inverness with the bus stop next to the park entrance on the A862. The service is approximately hourly however either visit Stagecoach for details or enquire at reception for exact times. Taxis are available at approximately £12.00 to the town centre during normal hours.

Cancellations
Touring pitches:
The £5.00 touring pitch deposit is non refundable. Where full payment has been made in advance the amount paid less £5.00 per pitch is refundable if a minimum of 21 days notice is given. Refunds are given under some circumstances for cancellations occurring at short notice where illness, Covid restrictions or compassionate reasons apply. Alternatively the full amount can be carried forward for 12 months and used as a deposit for a future booking.
Holiday vans and chalets:
The deposit is non refundable if less than 21 days notice of cancellation is given. but may be carried forward in full and used as a deposit for a future booking. Where a deposit or full payment has been made in advance the amount paid less £15.00 per van/chalet is refundable providing 21 or more days notice has been given. Refunds are given under some circumstances for cancellations occurring at short notice where illness, Covid restrictions or compassionate reasons apply. -
I am due to bring my camping trailer (like a little wooden cabin on wheels or tiny home) to stay with you at the end of March. It has a wood burning stove for heating so I’m unsure if you allow this.
There is no restriction on using a wood burner although action needs to be taken in the unlikely event that smoke becomes a problem for your neighbours. Collecting wood from the surrounding woodland is not permitted.

An online booking means you will have a guaranteed pitch however you can turn up without a booking and it is likely space will be available except during the main season when you are recommended to book in advance.

What are you opening times
Opening times are from 8.00am to about 5.30pm. If you arrive and find the reception closed sign you details on the board outside the shop and follow directions to the camping areas. During the main season the closing time is later at about 7.30pm. Reception may also be closed between 12.30 and 1.30pm depending on the time of year.

On a price list it says walkers tent 2 persons is 8.50 pe night. Does that mean tent plus 2 persons or is there any additional charges to that?
If you arrive on foot ie do not have a car the rate for 2 people and a tent is £8.50 per night in 2022. There is no additional charges. Electricity if required is extra.

The £100.00 per day refers to Chalet accommodation as it is under the heading Chalets and the £65.00 refers to Holiday Caravans.

We do not offer permanent pitches for static holiday vans. Residential pitches are occasionally available but are only let on the basis of permanent use as a main residence.

Is it possible to swim in front of the campsite?
The Beauly Firth is a tidal estuary with swimming from the beach best done around high tide with care needed to avoid currents.
