A quick glance at the map will tell you that Bunchrew is the perfect base for touring the Highlands, within an easy day's reach of so many beauty spots and places of interest.
Lots of different day trips are available from Inverness by bus, boat or train. Visit the Isle of Skye, Kyle of Lochalsh and the West Coast, or Aviemore. Cruise on Loch Ness (who knows what you might see and for the real thing do visit Nessieland) or travel north to John O'Groats and the Orkney Islands. If you prefer to travel by car, we can help you plan routes or just follow the North Coast 500 route for miles of the best of the Highlands.
If you do not want to travel too far afield, there is plenty to see in and around Inverness. For anyone interested in Scottish history, the castles of Brodie, Cawdor and Dunrobin and the battlefield of Culloden are a must. The many malt whisky distilleries in the area offer guided tours and the chance to sample "a wee dram"!
If it is the outdoor life you are after, there is no better place than the Highlands of Scotland! - choose from the first class golf courses (many within a few miles of Bunchrew), or salmon and trout fishing, which we can arrange for you. Birdwatching from the park is extremely rewarding with Osprey and a multitude of birds to be seen particularly with a rising tide. Seal and dolphin are frequently seen from several local points. Horse-riding, cycling, a wide variety of watersports and miles of wonderful walks are all available nearby, and the long sandy beaches of Lossiemouth and Nairn make an easy day's outing.
Inverness itself offers all the amenities you would expect from the Capital of the Highlands, including excellent shops, cinemas, a swimming pool, a superb theatre, restaurants, nightclubs, bars and cafes.
